In today’s private jet market there is a wide variety of brands and styles available, in all shapes and sizes.
Private Jets come with seating for as few as four passengers to as many as fifty, and with ranges for short puddle-jumper trips to long intercontinental flights. Travelers with a multitude of diverse business and vacation travel needs may find it difficult to choose just one appropriate aircraft. Among all the competitors, one tried and true series to consider is the family of Cessna Citation jets.
These comfortable and reliable aircraft have been in use as far back as 1980 and continue to perform quite well today. Some of the most popular jets in this series are the Citation III, Citation VI, Citation VII, Citation X, Citation Excel/XLS, Citation Sovereign, and the CJ4, all of which fit into the "midsize" or "super midsize" categories of aircraft.
Groups with as many as twelve passengers can travel together in the largest of these jets, to destinations ranging from 2100 to 3500 miles away. The slowest of them –the CJ4—can zip by at 500 mph, while the fastest— the
Citation X—trumps that pace by over 100 mph, making for a breathtaking speed of up to 600 mph.
The cabin dimensions, except that of length, are about the same for each of these aircraft –5 ft. 7 in. high by 5 ft. 5 in. wide. The CJ4 is slightly smaller, about 4 ft. 9 in. by 4 ft. 10 in. In length, they vary from 17 ft. 4 in. on the CJ4 up to 25 ft. 3 in. on the Sovereign, which generates extra space for passengers or gear. As for baggage capacity, these aircraft offer anywhere from 60 cubic feet at the smallest up to 135 cubic feet on the Citation Sovereign.
Each jet comes with varying facilities and usually adjustable seating options. Amenities aboard the most popular of the group, the Citation X, include eight executive, fully reclining seats typically arranged in double club configuration, heated and pressurized luggage compartments, a private lavatory with plenty of space to double as a dressing room, a full galley, and a closet for coats and small bags. Each jet in the series is unique, but all come with similar options and styles.
Since it is unlikely that just one of these jets can solve all your
private travel needs, why not consider a private charter service option which allows for the selection of an appropriate aircraft to match each trip as it comes up? Flight matching and shared flights are a couple of charter plans which provide such choices, and they are definitely worth looking into if more than one of these Cessna Citation aircraft sound useful for your future travel plans.
